The founder
Why this exists.
Shawn Clark grew up in New York's North Country and spent five years playing Division I football at Monmouth University. After a workout with the Indianapolis Colts and playing in The Spring League in fall 2020, he entered rugby in 2021 having never played the sport. That decision led to a professional rugby career.
Astra Vela grew from what that path taught him: progress rarely begins with certainty. It begins with seeing another possibility and having the courage to take the next step. Coffee is where the brand begins.
