High in Ethiopia’s Sidama Zone, between 1,700 and 1,900 meters above sea level, smallholder farmers grow indigenous heirloom coffee varieties in the rich soils of one of the world’s most celebrated coffee regions. After harvest, each coffee cherry is carefully hand-sorted before being left whole to dry naturally on raised beds. It’s a slower process that allows the fruit surrounding the bean to influence what eventually reaches your cup. The result is a beautifully balanced medium-light roast with the sweetness of milk chocolate and caramel, followed by a bright, natural fruit character that gives the coffee its unmistakable Ethiopian finish.
